The Eloquii Walmart Collection: 10 Plus-Size Picks Under $60

Eloquii is the destination for fashion-forward, plus-size clothes suitable for work and play. The brand was originally a short-lived, plus-size line at Limited that met its demise when Limited decided to focus on its core business. In an interesting twist of fate, Limited ultimately folded but key members of the original Eloquii team revived the brand as an online shop. Walmart would later purchase Eloquii, laying the groundwork for Eloquii Elements — the Eloquii Walmart collection that’s available today.

Walmart’s moves to purchase Eloquii and offer the new collection at aren’t isolated forays into fashion. The mass retailer also owned ModCloth at one point and currently owns brands Moosejaw and Bonobos. Just last year, Walmart relaunched the New York boutique brand Scoop as its private label. And in 2020, Walmart teamed up with Thredup to offer a pre-owned fashion collection for bargain-hunting fashionistas. Given that Walmart is already one of the most shopped destinations for clothes — second only recently to Amazon — the shift to upgraded offerings makes sense. I mean, we’re already buying undies and socks at the big W; why not pick up a cute cardi or shift dress, too?

The Eloquii Walmart collection makes that an option for style-minded, plus-sized women. The line is not a watered-down misuse of the Eloquii name, either. Browse the collection and you’ll find elements of sophistication, fun, and versatility. The styles aren’t over-the-top trendy, but lean more towards classic styling. And that’s a good thing, because you’ll wear them next year without feeling self-conscious. And the price points are reasonable. I wouldn’t say they’re dirt-cheap, but definitely value-oriented. I don’t know where else you could buy a crisp denim blazer for $65, for example. Read on for a closer look at that blazer and other top picks from the line-up.

Top Picks from the Eloquii Walmart Collection

1. Bow blouse

A vibrant red-orange blouse with a tie-neck and flutter sleeves is the perfect blend of trend and class. The tie-neck blouse is one of those classic fashion staples that retains its edge, even though the style’s been around for so long it’s developed a retro vibe. Eloquii blends that retro element with a fire-like hue that’s very now.

You can wear this blouse to work, virtually or in person, or as an upgrade to your weekend jeans outfit. If you choose the latter, anchor your ensemble with ankle boots or closed-toed mules.

2. Organza blouse

This blouse might quickly be impractical if you live in a land of four seasons, but you’ll love having it on hand when you can start adding dinner dates back into your calendar. Sheer and sexy without being trashy, this blouse adds mystery and flash to jeans or any straight cut pair of trousers. And if you really want to turn on the heat, try it with a pencil skirt to show off those curves.

 3. Sweater dress

I know what you’re thinking — cream after Labor Day? Yes, a thousand times yes. You can wear white and all of its cream and pearl siblings after Labor Day. If you’re worried about the solidness of this cream color, add a few bracelets over the sleeve or knot a fall-colored scarf around your waist if you want. Alternatively, you can reach for a colorful clutch to break things up. Whatever you do, make sure you wear this dress with knee-high or taller boots.

4. Printed blouse

When fall rolls in, it seems I never have enough easy, long-sleeved blouses like this one. The print and the ruffle details at the collar and sleeves make statements on their own — to the extent you don’t need much in the way of accessories. Leave it unbuttoned as much as you dare, just as this model does, for maximum impact.

5. The tunic

Tunics are another must-have wardrobe staple. Pair them with skinny jeans or leggings and add a bomber or moto jacket if it’s cold. This top comes in a versatile navy with a fun pattern that adds splashes of bright green.

6. Sculpting skinny jean

According to the description, these jeans shape and smooth, without losing their shape halfway through the day. I can’t vouch personally for those characteristics, but I can say I’m fully behind a pair of cute skinnies for $54. Choose from medium wash or dark; either option has a classic, five-pocket design without any silly embellishments or strategic tears.

7.  Belted dress

A pretty gold, long-sleeved dress for $25? Sign me up! The flowy silhouette combined with a woven gauze construction makes for an easy outfit that’s comfortable and stylish. You’ll get a few wears in this season and then you’ll reach for this dress again in the spring.

8. Wide legged pant

Wide-legged pants paired with a sleek top is one of the most flattering combos for all body types. These elegant pants are fully lined, too, which makes the $55 price tag even more appealing. Reach for these when you need an upgrade from your favorite jeans and joggers. You can anchor these pants with sandals, mules, loafers, or pumps — pretty much anything but sneakers or flipflops.

9. Peplum top

The cinched waist and slight flare of this top will show off your curves, balancing out wider hips with a puff sleeve. In solid black, it goes with everything, but makes an ideal partner for your favorite skinny jeans. Make sure you wear your hair up, too, so onlookers can admire the v-shaped back.

10. Denim blazer

Here’s a new take on the classic blazer — denim construction with double-breasted closure and bright gold buttons. You can wear this piece with a neutral crop pants. But if you dare, try it with jeans in a lighter wash. A sexy shoe and, possibly, an anklet add a nice dose of femininity.
